FCC Votes for More Media Consolidation

Today, despite public outcry, the Federal Communications Commission voted to remove the longstanding "newspaper/broadcast cross-ownership" ban that prohibits a local newspaper from owning a broadcast station in the same market. To read more about this, you can go here.

This means more media consolidation, less diverse sources of news and information and less media accountability...giving us even more reason to organize for a media system we want and deserve in the New Year.
